Can you give provide the steps in the AlphaOBD to initiate the dresoot? Thanks!

Connect to the Engine module, then under advanced options you will see the stationary desoot option. Hit start. Your RPM's will just to ~1000 and you'll hear the exhaust brake close. Within 5 minutes you shout see the DPF temp start to increase to ~1000°F. Both the ones I have done have lasted 60 minutes, to the second.

I go for a drive to get the coolant hot first. I will also monitor ECT and if it's staying too hot I'll spray the radiator with water. I think the last ECM update changed the fan programming during a desoot since it never got above 210° whereas last time I did it the ECT got to 219°. Similar ambient conditions.

It's recommended to drop the spare but I didn't. An IR temp gun only showed the tire a little above 100°F.

Thanks! I’ve wanted to do a stationary desoot for awhile now but was hesitant to be fiddling around in the Alpha app as it’s easy to screw something up with all the cryptic choices.

yeah.. I really need to get the alpha obd.. just need to make sure I get the correct security cable, module and then a tablet or something since my only phone is my company issued apple device.

@bcbender , Get yourself a brand name Android tablet with Bluetooth, Security cable and the MX+ Bluetooth OBD adapter along with the software. It's been great to be able to replace a TPMS sensor to adding extra FOBik with going to the dealer to pay for the programming. I used an aftermarket FOBik with no problems. Also programmed on for a buddy's 300 that has the push start, also aftermarket FOB! With the code reading, data logging and tweaking settings, it's well worth the investment. Just save a copy of the CONFIG file to track the changes that you do. Enjoy these trucks!
