2015 auto or manual trans?

Do you routinely start your truck by roll-starting when an incline is available???

Not in 3rd, it sounds like it's going to disintegrate below 1500 rpm, which my truck would have to be rolling @ 20 mph.

Maybe just three power strokes per motor revolution is just not smooth enough at lower RPM's? SNOKING

What ever it is, it sucks, and is one of the reasons why I want to convert over to a NV5600.

Not routinely. I live in Miami (flat as a pancake), florida. But I have done it about 2 dozen times and it is quieter than using the starter.

I usually do it in third. Works fine at low speeds. Quick out and in with the clutch if the rails are mostly pressurized & truck is warm.

Absolutely silent start.

Well, my DMF is under warranty for another 5 years. Not the clutch, but the flywheel. Extended Max Care.

As long as he gets a manual transmission truck when he eventually buys, it will all be good.

who has 1200 hp with a +9 speed auto? I'm still waiting to hear the answer on that one. I'm not bashing auto's, I might even buy one. BUT (you Aisin guys better sit down and take your blood pressure pills with a big glass of ENSURE). I actually like SHIFTING gears manually! Yes, it's slower to accelerate, but the sound is wayyy cooler. I came here to decide what transmission would be better. The Aisin wins. Is it easy to accept a slush box behind my diesel, NO. But power corrupts, and I want power. LOTS OF IT.
