So I picked up this used 2500 Hemi, had all the recalls taken care of as well as replaced wheel joints (seized up bearings at 48k miles) and after the software updates the cruise control has a mind of it's own as to when it will work or not. What I mean is that I cannot turn on the cruise about half of the time. No matter how many times I press the cruise button on the wheel, nothing happens on the EVIC. If I change the screen on the EVIC, I can then select Cruise Control. It's like some module isn't waking up when I'm trying to select cruise. Any ideas of what to tell my dealership? Keep in mind that my dealership has mechanics that are charter members of the helpless man's club.

Don't know if it helps, but when they did the cruise reflash on my 6.4 it fouled up the operation of my Aux Switches. I had to contact FCA customer service to light a fire under them, but they got it resolved. I am unclear whether the dealer screwed up the initial flash somehow, or if the flash had an issue.

I had no problems with my cruise prior to having several updates performed. One being the cruise control recall. Another being a flash to improve a severe drone/rattle caused by MDS was also done. Since then, the cruise has been misbehaving.

I had the same problem with a 2013 Chrysler 300S. Dealer couldn’t replicate the problem (of course) so it just kept getting worse. On a hunch, I replaced the steering wheel mounted control for the cruise control (right side switch assembly). Cleared up the problem.

After exhausting all other possibilities, I replaced the switch assembly and that fixed my cruise problem. Been working like a champ for several months now.
