yep, 32.4klbs; me, wife, two Labs, fully fueled weighed at Flying J. my criteria when selecting tow vehicle: biggest brakes, most durable transmission, tow platform. if you search, you can see In this forum where me and others discussed C&Cs as RV tow vehicles. I'm probably one of the first to modify one to better suit RV/ personal use. mine was governed at 76mph due to tires, and derated 350hp to 305hp. I added the Smarty within the first three months of ownership. Only issue had to replace the turbo in 2013, already out of warranty due to exhaust brake issues. many friends have new 3500s so those of us who choose 4500/5500s have some different criteria. no wrong or right choices, just different ones. thought I would mention I looked at upgrading to a Freightliner a couple of weeks ago at Sport Chassis of TX, but came up with the same reason I didn't buy one in 2009: It's too tall and won't go where my 4500 will, is noisy with wind and isn't a 4x4. Finally, last week we almost purchased a Jayco Super C Freightliner with 6.7 Cummins 360hp/800tq mated to an Allison MH300. What a dog. I'm pretty much keeping what I have. the 4500 is a bit long, but I manage to go and park at most places we want to. The Sport Chassis was $115K 2013 demo with 800 miles and the Jayco was $190K. 4500 been paid for almost 5 years. Just had to get all that out my system to realize what I have is good and works. Ron
