Transmission issue

Just posted this question on the regular forum before I remembered this spot. I'm doing a fluid change, using the Dorman 265-870 replacement pan and Baldwin 20000 filter kit. The new pan won't got up to the transmission body, acts like the tube on the flat filter is hitting it. Where did I go wrong ?

The flat filter in the Baldwin 20000 kit is different, it's wider and the pan hits it. I'll have to go back with the old filter and use Genos forever, amen.

Did you happen to double up the seal on the flat filter?

There is a seal in the actual transmission and maybe one came on the filter so now you have 2?

I don't think I changed mine, left it in and removed the new one off the filter.

Just tossing something out there.

I used the same pan from what I can tell, but a Mopar filter.
