A few days back, I received a cell phone call while driving, so the radio switched to the phone screen as normal. However, it froze in the phone screen and the touch screen buttons below disappeared; meaning I couldn't change to the climate, radio, settings screens etc. 3 restarts later, the screen went back to normal.

And now.......my back up cam quit being visible. I have the colored lines, and they bend when I'm turning and backing at the same time. However, there is only darkness, no picture.

Looks like I'm going to the local dealership for answers.

When I first picked up my '16, I had some strangeness in the system. As we were on the road and no longer close to the dealer I used the button on the mirror and contacted UConnect support. The first thing they did was have me perform a system reset using a pair of the buttons on the wheel. I can't remember exactly what buttons they were but the system does have a reboot command.

In my case, this had no impact on the problem of dash lights failing to turn off and UConnect Access not working but the support person told me it was the first step a dealer would take. Second step was more of a hard boot where I removed both negative terminals from the batteries for 10 minutes.

Again, in my case, none of this seemed to fix the problems I was having. I just pulled a fuse so that the dash lights wouldn't kill the battery overnight for a few evenings and one morning, everything corrected itself and it has all worked perfectly ever since.

I did stop at a dealer a few days later and the service advisor ran a quick code scan on the truck. The scan indicated that there were two codes in the system, both had been resolved and they were no longer current. Apparently the PCM and BCM hadn't been communicating with each other and this was the cause of my symptoms.

Still. It can't hurt to give them a call and see if there is a quick re-boot that might straighten things out.

I'll have to see if someone picks up at uconnect. I didn't even to think about contacting them. I'll do the battery disconnect first and see what happens.

I didn't start the truck today to see if the camera worked itself out. I did however, dc the negative battery cables and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Upon startup, the 8.4 worked as normal and the backup camera worked.

Mt 8.4 froze again tonight. Here's the screen it freezes in. Any ideas?? I can switch audio devices with the steering wheel controls, I can make and recieve phone calls, but I can't get the screen to switch from this. I can hit the settings button in the corner and it takes me to the connected devices list but that's it.
