5th wheel towing questions - new to this

Finally got a few pictures of the new trailer

I posted about this issue shortly after buying my 2016 CC Dually with the Aisin with 4:10 gears, it would drop from 6th to 5th and right back to 6th every 5-10 seconds without losing any speed when in cruise which made using cruise worthless. There is a TSB out there for this problem, took it in and had a reflash done and it totally fixed the issue. Now you can put the cruise at whatever speed you want and it holds it unless you hit a grade that loses more than 2 miles per hour and then it will downshift. It actually helps the boost control because it will bring the boost up quicker which helps the losing speed issue before the boost comes up. Just a FYI if you are fighting the same issue.

Do you have the TSB number? I'm curious if it is similar to my intermittent problem where boost doesn't come up as it should on a grade so it downshifts instead.

How do you like the Aisin/ 4:10 combo for towing? How heavy is your 5er?

I'm happy with it now that the cruise is fixed, tows well, rides good. The trailer is around 16,500 and fully loaded with fuel, genset, and misc other stuff I am at 27000 LBS down the road. It gets between 10-11 MPG towing at 64 MPH and I've seen 18-19 highway not towing at 65MPH. It only has 8600 miles so far so it should get better as time goes on.

I will chime in since I have the same combo. I tow West Coast, the truck performs GREAT.
