Well, well, well, 184 people have viewed my post and only 2 folks have offered advice, thank you to the 2 that have responded. Not sure if it was the way I posted or what, I would have been open to suggestions on how to properly post if someone would have offered. I will not be renewing my TDR membership when it expires. Thank you gentlemen!

Are you familiar with the phrase if you haven't anything good to say, say nothing at all? How many people with 2016 tradesman trucks do you think read your post? Tradesman trucks have their own screen and reset programs. Any upgraded model would be different and its procedure would be different. Around here most of us pride ourselves on not adding to the confusion by pointless answers and opinions just to read our own words.

Would the trim level have anything to do with the problem? I also have the Tradesman, with 5.0 Uconnect touch screen. My Driver Info Sys shows the same display as the one in the corresponding post. I cant belive my autherised Ram dealer is unable to reset the fuel filter index!

The dealer re-flashed mine also, but they still cannot get index to reset. Dealer sent help request to Chrysler 2 weeks ago, no answer yet. did your dealer give u any info about the reflash they performed, ie, any abnormal coding etc?

Mr Spidy with an attitude.

This place is an excellent resource for help, unlike other websites that claim to have knowlegable folks this site does.

So, if someone reads and doesn't respond it is because they don't know the answer. On other sites, the folks there tend to have no clue and are eager to let others know that they know everything. Do I take offense at your post - yes - because I CARE about the TDR and the "family" here. I have received a LOT of good info here. I received a free wiring harness. I received a very cheap, hard to find, part for my 1996 truck. I, in turn, have tried to help and send things to others.

Please feel free to go to those other sites and good luck finding truthful and helpful answers.

However, if you want to stay, that is fine just please leave the attitude you expressed in your 3rd post on those other sites. If you are willing to do that I'll say welcome aboard.

Now, I took the time to go to the Owners manuals I downloaded and find your answer. (You can download it from the Ram website. If you can't find that, I can post a link). If this is exactly what you tried, then I have no idea. I don't own a tradesman, but I took the time to help do some research.

Starting on page 31 of the 2016 Ram Diesel supplement:

Fuel Filter Life Reset
The cluster will display the “Service Fuel Filter” message
when the fuel filter maintenance life is less than 5%. To
check the remaining fuel filter life, go to the “Fuel Filter
Life” screen in the “Vehicle Info” menu. When this
message appears, dealers should replace both frame
mounted and engine mounted fuel filters.
NOTE: Use the steering wheel EVIC controls for the
following procedure(s)
Vehicles Equipped With Passive Entry
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, push the ENGINE
START/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the
ON/RUN position (do not start the engine.)

2. Push and release the DOWN arrow button to scroll
downward through the main menu to “Vehicle Info”.
3. Push and release the RIGHT arrow button to
access the ”Fuel Filter Life” screen.
4. Push and release the DOWN arrow button to select
“Reset”, then push and release the RIGHT arrow
button to select reset of the Fuel Filter Life to 100%.
5. Push and release the UP arrow button to exit the
EVIC screen.
Vehicles Not Equipped With Passive Entry
1. Without pressing the brake pedal, cycle the ignition to
the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine.)
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you
start the vehicle, the Fuel Filter indicator system did not
reset. If necessary, repeat this procedure.

I Just had this issue with my 2017 LL3500, it was user error, after getting to the filter reset, I pressed right then I had to press down to change the word cancel in the middle with the up and down arrows above and below to OK. Then I think the Right arrow then confirmed it and it took. This was more frustrating than the overtightened factory Oil filter and my wife complaining about some spilt diesel on the driveway from the front filter missing the pan a bit. if anyone cares I used Fleetgaurd for the front fuel, and Donaldson for the rear (specs at 2 micron) and stratapore for the oil with Rotella 15-40, so I am covered, documented with pictures ect. Thanks for the help with the reset. I tried the manual, Tried Ram assist (what a joke, operator said he never heard of a change fuel filter message and said to go to dealer) but in the end I found it on TDR, I have been a member since I bought my first truck and will as long as I own one. While searching for this I saw a post that someone did not get an answer to his question, they got 2 replies and over 150 views in 3 days and is not renewing. I have always found what I needed by searching, except for the one time I panicked and called Bob4x4 at home one night but that was in my first 90 days of ownership, He saved me and I have learned to search eversince. Enough of the rant, TDR and it's member are a great bunch of people, with a wealth of knowledge...

well, would you prefer that people who don't have an answer give you one, even if it is wrong or would you prefer 184 responses saying you are screwed and that you ought to take it to a dealer. ? I'd prefer two possible correct responses over the latter

A little late to the ballgame I would imagine......since the post you quoted is only 197 days old.
