I'd simply not ever go back to the first dealer ever again...
A good dealership wants your service ($$$) whether you purchased the car from them or not! A service department run that way is simply a bad service department. You got lucky. Now you know to avoid them.

No I won't be going back to this dealer, sadly there much closer to me than the rest, but?/

as for a loaner vehicle,
the warranty I have states that any time my truck in in shop over NIGHT I am entitled to a vehicle, be it a rental or loaner , or what ever anyone wants to call it
the service manager even told me this was accurate, so, NOT just me thinking this, was confirmed by the dealer(both of them yesterday) and also when I talked to Customer Care service.
so, pretty positive I was entitled to a loaner/rental or?? based on this info, and well this isn't MY first time with a new vehicle that needed work, and have had MANY loaner/rental cars over the past 30+ yrs of buying new vehicles and warranty's with that on them!
and its set up thru DEALER< NOT me having to go hunt one down! as agreement is with me and Dodge, not rental car company's!
all the more so on a NEW vehicle with an issue!

again I also don't expect to get on the top of any line due to "I HAVE AN ISSUE", as I know others were in front of me, and there is an order to things

BUT I do NOT expect a Dodge dealer to lie to me about DODGE will pay for towing to another Dodge dealer, which was 100% a lie from this dealer
besides the fact, a dodge dealer shouldn't be telling a dodge customer, to TOW there vehicle to another dodge dealer at all

I did my part, I bought a Dodge, brought it to a Dodge dealer with a ISSUE NOT my fault, a system failure with my Dodge product!!

and ANY dodge dealer SHOULD fix it, not send me else where
NOT deprive me of a service I am entitled to by OWNING a dodge product!

that's the part that offended me, I didn';t care if it took a week or more, just don't BS me and say tow it else where, or sorry cannot GIVE you something THEY just said I am entitled to!(they again SAID I should have a loaner at this point)
so
that's the insulting part
I understand things happen and failures are almost an expected part of buying things anymore?(that's pretty sad too, but the norm more than Not)

had I took there advice and towed my truck to second dealer, I would got stuck with a bill
had I went and rented a car, I would have been stuck with a bill

that's WRONG
a dealer ship should know better and should even be liable for giving false information, as they did to me
I would like to think Dodge with frown on this stuff from one of there dealerships!!

mrbb above all stay clam if possible.Just check the other forums for Ford or GM on repairs and treatment ,this is so typical of today's mega dealership's.All warranty works has to be approved step-by-step now.Must call the "hotline" and run it by FCA TechHelp desk, also writer gets a warranty number to approve the repairs, even if it is a reset code .Writer was right in if you do not want to leave it here for a week, because once a CEL light has illum it could be damaging for you to drive any further, and FCA is just trying to reduced it's warranty cost runout on this ticket.Plus had he told you to drive it until next week appointment and it damage much more, including a shutdown and tow again FCA would have contested the warranty with the dealership in which many months of debates before dealer/tech got paid and for maybe half of the total work billed on the w-ticket,rolleyes:That is why I have alway's seeked out the Mom/Pop small area dealership for sales and repairs..I love the old school one owner dealership's.But every dealership is only as good as it's employees treat each other and how they treat there customers as well...

thanks for your suggestion
but again, I understand that things can go bad and that by driving things could get worse

the fact again that got my feathers ruffled was the LIE's the dealership told me
there is NO way around it, they plain outright lied to me, Twice on things that could have ended up costing me out of pocket funds
so, to say Stay calm, I more or less did
but I also am not anyone's sucker and will NOT tolerate being lie'd to by a dealership
that is just **** poor business practice, and customer relations , and again in some instances, can be liable!

The dealer's giving you the runaround and a bunch of BS because you didn't buy it from them. Common in many industries. Try to get an RV serviced somewhere other than where you bought it and you'll most likely get the same runaround. The bottom line is the manufacturer's don't pay the dealers squat for warranty repairs so the dealers don't want to do them unless they sold it. The dealer is in it to make money and doing warranty work is not profitable. When I took my truck in to a non-selling dealer for some warranty work I had them do some billable maintenance as well. Makes them feel better. The same when my wife's Sonata sprung a leak in the A/C condenser. They first said it was a rock that punctured it and it was not covered but when I told them I wanted maintenance done too, all was well.

I agree, and my goal / plan was to hold out till my first service was due and let them do that and then ask about issue's I have had
I figure when they get some work, for that
then while there can check my issue's I have had, for less complaining about not buying off them

But I couldn't wait till then due to the check engine light coming on, and well, the way the trans was acting in the cold there, it wasn't drive able without doing more damage I felt!!
so had to bite the bullet and take it to them!

Warranty work is better than NO work
this isn't a wealthy area, and is below average on pay rates and low economy
so any work should be appreciated to help keep the doors open

there are more closed out of business places here than open these days

there is a huge shopping mall near by that has about 15 % of its area open, rest is like a ghost town , weird to walk thru a mall and everything is dark and closed up LOL
