Recently swapped our '14 for a '16. Both trucks similarly equipped. The only time we heard the engine cooling fan on the '14 was when we were towing our 5th wheel up a decent grade. The new '16 seems to cycle the fan every so often just driving around. We haven't towed with it yet. Just wondering if they changed the engine cooling fan strategy on the 16's?

Running the AC has a lot to do with it.. But definitely seems they changed things compared to my 2010 3500, oil filter most notably. I do like the autovent of the cooling system (above the turbo, where the hex plug used to be. I lost a turbo due to venting issues on my 10..)

Not sure if there is a different fan clutch strategy, but it is possible that this happens because the 2014 (IIRC) had dual radiators and 2015+ do not. Again, just a guess.
