2017 3500 6.7 TD refilling cooling system

Changed the tstat on my truck, drained more coolant than I wanted, now time to refill. I added as much as I could through the tank, but I know there is a lot of air in the system, and the radiator does not have coolant in the top hose. Or at least it doesnt feel like it does. Ive looked for vids on youtube, couldnt find any for my year truck with no radiator cap. Can anyone give me some tips on this? Proper procedure? link to a video? THANKS!!

I think just drive it around a little and let it burp then re-fill. Took mine a few different top-ups after the new engine went in. I have probably added at least a half gallon over the course of a couple weeks. Seems good now. Low coolant sensor seems very sensitive and even a pint low will trigger it. Good thing.

Take the upper radiator hose off at the radiator end, fill through the hose until you see coolant coming out of radiator neck, reconnect hose, and burp as usual.

Proper procedure?

normally a vacuum tool would be used but most people dont bother using the correct tools so theyll just spend days or weeks topping the fill tank until the air is gone (hopefully)
