Was not super surprised to see this but we had a lift gate installed in one of our new trucks and I asked for the bumper and tailgate back incase we need to reverse that decision, or one other truck we have smashes theirs up.
Already some surface rust showing on the bumper where the factory rivets are installed. In general every panel on the gate already has scrapes and rust on it, so will be touching up those spots for sure as well.
The larger rust showing is most likely from when they had to remove some stuff to swap over to the gate,
I typically use a galvanized spray called galvabrite, its great stuff and can paint over that with some industrial black rustoluem. It can take some decent abuse and scratches dont rust as much.
Have indoor storage for the bumper and tailgate not going to do anything with those. Was going to try the Krown treatment on this truck and see how we make out, bad part it closest dealer for that is +/-2hr away, but might be worth the trip.
