Thanks, TDR Staff
Registration is Now Open

There it is. Buried on page four of Issue 100 of the Turbo Diesel Register is a note to the audience to save those dates next year. Why? Because we're planning the next TDR Rally!

As you know, 2019 is the 100th anniversary of Cummins, Inc., and we are working with Cummins on a plan for a TDR rally at Cummins in Columbus, Indiana during that week. The 2019 event will feature a plant tour at CMEP, Cummins’ Columbus Midrange Engine Plant.

We had about 200 trucks at each of the past two rallies. For the 2019 event, the folks at the plant have issued a challenge to the TDR audience, “Bring us 400 trucks!” Wow, 400 is a big number. On behalf of the TDR membership, I gladly accepted the challenge.

This challenge translates to about 800 attendees. To accommodate this larger group, we will have planned activities for two core days – Thursday, June 13, and Friday, June 14. To keep the logistics manageable, we will split the large group of 800 in half.

One day will feature a Plant Tour at CMEP and (hopefully) a Ram Ride ‘n Drive.

The other day will feature a tour of Indianapolis Motor Speedway (Indianapolis 500) and a chance to do some drag racing (bracket racing) at the nearby Indianapolis Raceway Park (NHRA US Nationals).

Flip groups. Repeat.

On Saturday, how about a Show ‘n Shine at the host area, CERAland Campground?

Registration is officially open, and the early registration cost is $95 per person. To register online, click here: 2019 Cummins Mid-Range Plant Tour and TDR Rally Registration.

If you prefer to print a paper registration form and register by mail, you may download the registration forum here in .pdf format: 2019CMEPSignUp.pdf

Logistics Update

For those with a travel trailer, Cummins Employees Recreational Association's RV Park (CERAland) will be the key gathering location for several events and overnight lodging.

You will not find a better place to stay than CERAland. Just ask a TDR old-timer from the '99, '02, '11 or '13 events. We have reserved 250 spaces at CERAland (a mix of full and water/electric hook-ups) for your RV or fifth wheel. The full hook-ups are $35. Electric/water only are $30. For preliminary reservations at CERAland, give us a call at (770) 886-8877. We will take down your name, contact information and type of site needed. In early January, their schedule for 2019 officially opens, and you will be contacted for deposit/payment information. If you have questions, contact us at (770) 886-8877. Ask for Tina.

The Sleep Inn & Suites is a viable alternative. Their phone number is (812) 372-7200. You can visit their website by clicking here: Sleep In & Suites.

We will have additional hotel listings posted in July, 2018.

Thanks, Mike, Sandy, Ozy and Steffi. I look forward to meeting you all.

Will be going to Columbus next week to do further planning and try to secure room blocks at nearby hotels. Also will sign contract with the NHRA dragstrip.

Others, time to get the party started!

For preliminary reservations at CERAland, call (812) 377-5849 (extension 102) during weekday business hours. Ask for Corey Behymer. Use TDR Code "TDR400."

I have been trying to contact Corey to reserve a camping site, with no response . Any ideas?

JPM: please note that the CERAland contact information in the above text has been changed.

We will take the reservations here at the TDR. Please call Tina Pardue at 770-886-8877 and we will coordinate the details.
Our apologies for the confusion.

I had the campground reservations on the to-do list for next week, I'm afraid I would have followed the same path as JPM did. I assumed we were calling Ceraland as well......Thanks for the clarification!!!

Mike, a call to CERAland was the original plan. It is a nice campground.
However, since they are not responsive (and JPM was not the only one to have a problem), we know how to answer the phone and take notes.
