I know the older 6.7s have 5w40 oil installed from the factory but what does the 2019 have. I see in my manual that the recommend oil above 0 degrees is 10w30 instead of 15w40.
 
Yes 10w 30 is correct, tolerances,are tighter 6.7cgi engines Synthetic is preferred that meets the engine requirements.

Does the manual call for synthetic?
The reason I ask, I've seen conventional 10w30 that meets both CK4 and CES20086.
 
Yep, 10w30 synth. Just did my first oil change at 5k. Amsoil Sig series. Do a pan drain valve.... It takes the mess making part out of an oil change. I suggest the filter cap as well.... Keeps you from spilling the filter as you take it out and replace it.
