Hello,
I need some assistance with a task I have coming up.
My 2020 3500 Limited had a broken drivers side headlight.

I have a replacement on order $$$$!

but I can’t seem to see how to actually remove the assembly and replace it when the good one arrives.

can anyone help me with this procedure??

thanks!
Larryq

I will be getting both of mine replaced under MaxCare as they are getting moisture inside.

Hey Larry, reviving this old post, as I need to remove and replace the RH fender and will likely need to remove the front grill and headlight trim pieces,. Does anyone have the service manual for R&R of the grill surround trim? I tried to pull them back in Jan when I did my block heater and they really are tight and feel like they are going to break so I abandoned that idea and found another more difficult way to get the cord in there. The video above only shows them "off" and not the process. Just looking to see if there are any tips or tricks... I have the last appt next week for estimates and then the new parts go on.

Will send you a PM, too much to post. The fender file is 27MB due to the 3D pictures.

Looks like you have to take the whole front end off. Lots of bolts etc how much does a new headlight cost anyway . Does max care cover burnt out bulbs I wonder

Nope, you just open the little lid in the wheel well, take the cover off, replace the bulb, put the cover on, close the lid - et voila, finished.

I had to look that up because I couldn't believe that for a simple bulb change the whole front end has to come apart.

PS: i think the owners manual would tell that too.

I think the OP was changing a broken or damaged housing.. I am changing out a fender, so pretty far to dig in to get that bugger off.. It'll be my thanksgiving week project

I am so sorry for being out of pocket !

Have had employment and health issues, But…..

This can be done!
You just have to imagine a task that is very complex, and requires 6 arms!

I did it!
Lost about a pint of blood, but ended up with no extra parts.
The video i posted was my only roadmap, and the worst part was while under the front trying to find the facia screws.

My truck is a limited with full LED, and if I hadn’t broken the housing, I’m guessing the headlight might outlast me!

Sorry to all for such a huge delay, but it’s only by the grace of God, I am able to reply at all.

Thank you for the reply and hope you are back off the mend soon.. We have the same truck so I'll be digging into it when I have a week to do so, have all the parts and trim tools, I miss the days when vehicles were put together with nuts and bolts rather than plastic things that break the miniute you look at them wrong, but it is what it is.

Thank you for the words of encouragement.

Brian
