when will the 2020 be avaialble to order? if LED headlights are stock on a tradesman and the extra fuel is available that is an incentive for sure. plus the 1000 foot pounds. cheers comrades!

Besides the fitment question, it would be interesting to know what they are going to charge for the tank as a service part, whether the fuel pump swaps over, and if the straps are the same. It could end up making the Titan look like a bargain.

I would be very surprised if the straps, sender, and pump weren’t the same for all models of fuel tanks and cab/bed configuration.

I still haven’t played with Alfa OBD to see if I can adjust the tank size.

There is a fuel module that sits on top of the tank. So you would likely need to replace at least one module and get some reprogramming. I doubt that the reprogramming would be compatible with a previous program.

How do I know there is a fuel module above the tank? Mine went bad under warranty. I suspect the module has programming for the fuel pump and rear fuel heater and WIF sensor as well as for the fuel level sensor?

According to a pal at Ram, the 50-gal isn't a direct drop-in. They had to make frame changes to modify the way the fuel tank straps are attached to the frame. In 2019 there's a slot on one side and then nut/bolt on the other. For the 50 gallon tank there's a frame tweak and the tank mounts with nut/bolt on both sides.

In the tanks wars my First Gen comes up short...just 68 gallons, all underneath the bed:D
