My transmission is the Aisin AS69RC HD. Book says change transmission oil at 30,000 on the Aisin AS69RC but doesn't mention the "HD". Anyone know what the HD stands for and do I still have to change oil at 30,000?
Thanks for any info... Larry

There isn’t a “HD” version of the AS69RC, they are all basically the same. In terms of maintenance procedures they are all the same.

7.2 quarts is the drain and refill quantity.

Doesn’t change the fact that the published drain and fill volume is 7.2 quarts, which is just about exactly what mine took with a multi hour drain. With the low drop rate and low volume of drip there isn’t much to be gained by draining longer than even an hour. I just let mine drain as I worked on other things.

Well, thank you guys. Guess I get to go with 30,000 mile transmission oil change. It is what it is.... just doesn't seem like a very long mileage between changes.
And by the way, what kind of oil do you use?

I’m using Amsoil Signature Series ATF in my AS69RC and my 034Runner, both call for the same fluid. ASRC = Toyota T-IV. Both specs are on the label and it’s worked well for me. I also use it in my transfer case.

Part of the reason it’s such a short fluid change interval is that it’s an old fluid spec that isn’t synthetic. Most transmissions moved past this fluid spec 20 years ago.

Dang I can't give an opinion or state a fact about my experience without a rebuttal?????? Like what I say does not count because the book says so?

AMZ/OIL Signature Series ATF. Order 10 quarts, two for the transfer case and 8 for the trans. Some may say too soon on the transfer case as the spec is 30k fleet or frequent trailer towing.

I see on line that there are different flavors of Amsoil atf fluid Multi fuel and fuel efficient a bit confusing etc. signature series all. Kind of speedy also. What true flavor do I need?

The one I linked above. It's product code is ATF.

Didn’t see the link thanks John Will drain and dump 7-8 quarts at 30 k then again at 60 k and filter then warranty will be up 6- 60k then as you say might not have to go at 30 k so might maybe can go longer.

Your powertrain is warranted for 5/100k so keep up on maintenance as required and use approved filters and fluids!!! I had to prove I had bought both to get them to replace my AISIN the Mechanic had actually caused to fail.

Thanks John I see it now. If I change 7-8 qts at 30 k and again at 60 k with filter I will be out of warranty 60 k and 6 years then Amsoil says I can safely go twice the 30 k

Not related, but related. I just did my second fluid/filter change (120k) on my 68RFE, I got about 11 quarts out each time!
