Good call!!!

I have the original factory rear air and have had ZERO issues. Run mine in ALT mode with top tailgate at 55" and add my measly 6k pin from my 24k Mobile Suites and guess what the top of tailgate is still 55".

No AZZ high ride for me.

Does it auto adjust or do you manually change the height/air pressure?

My current trailer is a bumper pull and will be using that this spring until the financial shock of paying for a new truck wears off and I get the 5th wheel I have been eyeballing.

Like everyone, I have load levelers for the bumper pull and am curious how to set that up with the air ride until I get the 5th wheel.

I can not believe I had to order the rear wheel house liners as an option. Also ordered cold weather and Snow chief group, 5th wheel towing package, bed utility group, and RV camera. I did not see the need for the 360' trailer camera system. I have been towing things for 40+ years and did not see the need. It really is set up as an HD/HO no frills towing work truck.

The auto level is just that, automatic. It has 2 ride heights NORM and ALT. ALT requires payload to lower onto the HD overloads and is used for hauling or towing heavy.

Rear wheel house liners are standard on most trims, just not all.

Setting up the WDH with auto-level is very easy and not much different than without it. My first thought that is once you adjust the ball height, if required, the settings you used on the '96 will work perfect with the auto-level as that's how it worked for both of my WDH setups.

If those settings aren't proper then you can disable the suspension and set it up like any other truck by looking at sag recovery and lowering of the front axle. Then re-enable the suspension and you're done.

I have the Retrax, very nice, has operated flawlessly for 3 years. Little fiddly to mount it, had to make some shims, but not a big deal. I love that it has slots so I can also put adjustable cross-bars across the top and haul stuff on top as well.

I have and like the Truxedo. its light, simple, rolls up to a small space and does not use any of the truck bed for stowage. It is not hard or theft proof, but you cannot open it with the tailgate shut and locked... so keeps the honest people "honest" I would likely never buy a cap again as i have to remove it too often.

True of the 3500 but not the 2500.

Yep. I adjusted my WDH with the factory air in the "normal" height. No issues at all with the procedure.
