Getting ready to order a new 3500,I have a2014 and was wondering if anyone recommends getting the leveling air suspension.Also getting the towing technology group,trailer surround view camera system,safety group,50 gal fuel tank.Hi output with Aisin.I will also have the 2014 for sale in the near future.

I did not do the 50 gal deal, it would have been nice to have that. At same time the smaller tank forces me to stop and take breaks and not push the hours driving.

Yes for the auto level, it’s one of my favorite options.

Be sure to get the wired tow mode camera as they are nearly impossible to get after the fact, and only private party right now.

Have you driven one with the safety group? I am quite pleased I don’t have it, as I don’t like the steering feel with the adaptive steering. The reviews of the ACC are usually good, but mixed reviews on the lane assist.

360° cameras are fantastic on the truck. I found a NIB 360° trailer camera kit for less than half of what they cost when ordered, but they don’t seem as common 3rd party on the new trucks.

Dual alternators aren’t a bad idea if you ever plan on a DC-DC charger for your trailer.

Aux switches are a must have, IMO.

I for one like the retractable steps.. they are in exactly the place they need to be!!

SIde note, Can you put in the aux switches later? I found a wrecked 2020 that has them and was curious about how complex it would be.

A colleague has a Ram with retractable steps. Granted, it's a 2005. And they worked great until they didn't. YMMV. As to adding the switches later, well, I am sure that you can. Running the wiring might be troublesome.

Yes on the 50 gallon tank. You can never have enough fuel except when you are on fire right? Nice trucks you will love it

Rear air and retractable side steps are awesome. Assuming your getting a 3500 since your ordering the HO. Plenty of payload and good ride. I have the air on my 2500 and love it. So easy, hook the trailer up and go. My air has worked flawlessly. A great option for sure.

Was curious as my last RAM had wiring in the dash for options it did not have, hence the question

@bcbender, The basic wiring is in the main harness in all the trucks, it's the sub harnesses that create the problem and price. I guess if you found a wrecked '20 that had switches, you could crawl all over and under to get what would be needed. Than you'd need Alfa or something else to turn it on in the computer. I can say that I love them in my rig do to being able to have add ons without all the hassle of running wires, fuses and or relays! If I'm able to do a new rig, they'd be on the order sheet!
