225 75 15 Tire replacements

Hello everyone. I have a problem I need your help with. We have a 10K tandem trailer we use alot delivering farm equipment. It doesn't get the best of treatment and goes over some pretty rough terrain. At the moment we are running an OEM TS 2600lb rated tire on the trailer. We have went thru about 8 tires now. Never a blowout but mainly tire wear and gashes(about 20k miles on the trailer). I know no tire is impervious to the elements etc, but these tires should last longer than this I think. Any opinions on what brand to use as a replacement tire. We hope to upgrade to a bigger trailer and will then use the Michelin XPS ribs. They aren't avail in this size.

Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, KO

Have you checked with Discount Tire Co? I have a 16' tandem that I need to put tires on. Plenty of rubber on the tread but they got weather cracks. It has G78 15 LT on it now. Fellow I talked to at Dis Tire said that is either a 6 or 8 ply tire bias. He can still get those but he would have to special order them. The replacement for them are ST205/75-15 but they are radials. I know they have 225/75-15 there cause he said I could replace the G78 15 with these if I had enough tire clerance.

If you are going to keep the trailer for a while I would consider going to 16 in rims. This opens up many options for higher rated tires
