Competition Rearend help for the strip...

Okay Guys... . just sent my pump into the pump shop today to get built up. engine is down in Indiana getting built as we speak. I chose to keep the pump up here in Ontario just to keep it close to home incase something happens to it in the future (its a pain to send something across the boarder these days!!) my engine was enough of a hassel.

Anyway, being up here in Ontario... we are behind quite a bit on the preformance diesel mods (the main reason I sent my engine to Haisleys) Anyway, my pump shop is going to rebuild my 215pump and install larger plungers/barels... I talked about getting a preformance cam to him and he said unfortunatly he doesn't know a source for them... yet anyway.

Is it possible to buy a cam somewhere or would the 215cam be enough? I have heard from many that it is but I am just double checking.

Also, about the plunger size... he said he could do either 13mm or 14mm... any opinions on that?

All in all this guy knows his stuff and how to make a P-pump scream he just doesn't know much about the selection of the cams or where to get them.

Can anyone help me out? I told him I would look into it. Feel free to send me a PM if you want!

Thanks in advance... again!!! RyanB

You can find custom pump cams in quite a few places if you know where to look. Although the 913 pump cam is quite good, a custom quick rate cam is much better. J. R. Adkins (317-281-3130) and Josh Woodruff (937-987-2177) can both hook you up with some mean cam grinds. Speaking of cams, J. R. has some mean camshaft(engine) grinds,

Use the 215 cam, it's longivity is much better. It will make as much hp as any of the other cam grinds. It won't have the lifter bounce like some out there.

Thanks guys... just trying to explore all options. When the time comes for this truck to be a full time puller... this pump will be set away or sold for an actual pulling pump! so I guess seeing its still a semi street truck the 215cam will be fine for now!

Thanks... Ryan
