Do you tow much? What kind of HP are you looking for?

215s are a nice mild upgrade (20HP) and should not have a significant impact on EGT's. 191s will add a fair amount of heat and bottom end smoke but it will still be easy to drive around town smoke free.

If you are thinking of adding both at the same time, I would go to a bigger injector than 215's and skip the 191s.

I am going to start towing alot more this summer mostly in town.

Just didnt want to do 370s because of heat. Is there an injector between 215s and 370s?

I would call Lenny @ Dynomite Diesel he probalby has an offering that would fit the bill perfectly. Or call Diesel Dynamics, they have a DD2 that would work perfectly as well too.

Look at my sig for my fuel mods. If you played with the plate position, and had the right turbo, you should be just fine EGT-wise. If the 10 plate was in stock postion with a set of 370s, 191s and the HX-40 or equivelant, you would probably be sitting pretty good. My truck smokes pretty heavy if I lug it, but the AFC spring as loose as it can go without changing the spring. If I drive sanely and get the transmission to drop out of OD quick enough when needed, it doesn't smoke too awful bad.

As it is, I have the plate full forward, loose AFC, and the other mods, I see up to 45# boost and 1400* (1350* if over 40#).

I do tow some, and haven't had a problem with it so far. It ususally doesn't have to work hard enough to keep the EGTs up too high. Don't usually see te real high boost or EGTs towing, just goofing off empty, but is only there very breifly, since it gets up to speed so fast.

Sooooooooooooo, FWIW.

How much more hp are DD2s and are they "clean" burning?

I think DD2s are rated at 60HP IIRC.

I ran a set at one time in my 180 pump and they were pretty clean with a #4.

I would not hesitate to run a #10, DD2s, and a stock turbo. It will run clean and should not run too. A little right foot control may be necessary but nothing too excessive. It's pretty flat around here so I cannot comment too much on towing through the "bumpy" parts on the map :)
