My friend has '95 3500 4x4, ngine is stock, transmission is brand new ATS with Triple Lock, rear end is 4. 10's I think. He uses it is a delivery truck for his salt and water business so it gets driven by employees also. Used for snowplowing too. He had gauges installed last week also. The dealer is trying to steer him into 215's. From what I see on here you guys like 370's. True? What injectors and fuel plate combo would you recommend???

TIA,

Trent

The dealer is probably trying to keep him from killing the engine via high EGT's, especially with more than 1 driver. I imagine 370's would get pretty hot on a loaded truck without any air flow improvements, i. e. boost elbow, 4" exhaust, etc...

Yep, if he's not the only guy driving it, I would stick with the 215's. 370's are fun, but unless you have some pretty substantial air improvements, the can get hot QUICK. Mine would see 1500* in 3rd gear empty if I let it.

The '94-'95 automatic trucks came with a 160 hp pump. There are several things to do to make the truck perform better and the injectors are 3rd on the list behind a 3000 RPM kit and a plate kit.

The RPM limit on the 160 pump which won't rev high enough stock to pull through a gear to the next upshift makes the truck SLOW.

The 215's would be the better choice but he's also going to need guages, 181 delivery valves (cheap used ones from a vender, they're 180 pump take outs) to get the 160 pump to run right, timing adjustment and an exhaust housing/exhaust work to keep the EGT's down. I got 275 hp at the rear wheels with all that and still got 17 mpg.

I put a plate kit in my truck when it was stock and couldn't tell much if any difference. The new TC (which he already has) made it go much better. The 215 injectors then made a big difference. The 3000 RPM kit let it pull hard until it upshifted. The delivery vavles gave a litle more power but smoothed it out at lower RPM's. Timing and exhaust housing were done early to adress EGT's.

Tell your friend to cough up the big $35 to cover his admittance. I had a friend who couldn't see the light and payed his dealer to repair the KDP damage I warned him about. He could have been a member for 60 years for what he spent with the dealer on that one problem! Then there's the 5th gear nut story, that would have paid for another 60 years!

EDM's

Dont forget the F1 Mach EDM's

March 2 are the same power as the 370 marine with less smoke.

The injectors are on sale this month too

Maybe consider a Plate first...

I know you did not ask about a plate... . But did you consider recomending a plate first. Nice thing about plates (a vendor in the NW told me this) is you can move them around to adjust power and or control EGTs. No adjustment with injectors.

Considering lots of different drivers, I wonder if a #10 and 3GSK would not be a better compromise for usable safe power. While it will not give a big power increase it will spread the power out, be very controlable, should not have any EGT issues. Cost should be pretty close.

Bigger injecctors with the above plate/GSK would really run nice.

215's are okay, but 370's are the STUFF.

But he'll need 181 or 191 DV's.

How about 370's, DV's, and a hidden valet switch for those other drivers. :p
