215’s Versus 230 Injectors?

Could someone please explain the difference between the 215 and 230 injectors, such as nozzle and pop-off pressure difference? I have a set of 230 injectors on hand and noticed that the 230 nozzle has only four ports compared to five on the 215 nozzles. Also, do all 230 nozzles have only four ports on their nozzle tips? I'm just curious what the actual difference is.

Have not seen you post in a while DBR.

The 215's have the better spraying angle of the two sets for the Dodge/Cummins piston design. The pop off pressure should be the same on both, 260bar.

Don M,

Thanks for noticing my absence! Unfortunately, I've been doing some business-related travelling and extended hours at work and have been unable to partake in my favorite pastime. But I guess that I am no different than anyone else these days.

However, I am taking off next week and hope to be able to install some "goodies" on my 2001 while the paint's drying on the house. :D

We gathered you were talking about a 12 valve with 215 and 230 hp, because 24 valve have 215, 235, 245 hp ratings. then you mention your 2001. . . the lowest upgrade injector worth putting on it is the 275hp RV injector.

JOE, I have a 97 and a 2001. The 12valve is my big toy and the 24 valve is my little toy. What's your 2 cents on the two injectors (215 / 230) 12 valve?

Avoid the 230 hp injectors. The 215s are more expensive than 370s but may give better mileage, cleaner burn at and just off idle bacause they don't have the fuel sac.
