I have a set of 22. 5 wheels made by Stockton wheel, and I ran full size 11L-22. 5 take offs on one of mine in the summer.....

Hmmm... do you still have the wheels? Were they made with 8 x 6. 5 pattern centers? On my '06, I've gone to considerable lengths with the front end for strength, including lifetime warranty Carli BJs, so I don't think wear would be much of a problem...

You hit the nail on the head EXACTLY!!!! Window tint cures all!

I do feel dumb owning a car. I'd never owned one before.

Don't feel dumb. I think it's smart to cut your fuel bill by 1/3... . I'm actually kinda jealous that I can't do that..... I'd love to have a twin turboed V6 or inline 6 to play with for no good reason other than fuel mileage:rolleyes:..... I started on a 300 6 in a Ford F-250, but it got sold shortly before I got it done... . I have to have a truck for where I go... . Feeling dumb is when you have to take a farm jack and lift your car off the rocks in the back yard where it got high-centered..... :-laf

Yep, still got 'em. They were 8x6. 5 pattern, 4. 88 bore. I opened 'em up to 5. 13? and use them on a stock trailer with low-pros on 12k axles..... I think they cost me around $225ea plus shipping, which was high, so I ended up with @ $300ea in 'em... . I haven't had any flats since!! :-laf I've got one of the spares out by my other shop... . They're pretty hefty... .

Well, after long searching and deliberation, I don't think 22. 5s are for me. The aluminum "bolt on" 22. 5 wheels with an 8x6. 5 lug pattern are so rare, that you just can't find a deal easily... and since I'm looking for something economical, it surely doesn't make sense to buy new.

I did find a very nice set of Rickson 19. 5s though. They're 265/70 Toyo M608Z traction tires mounted and balanced by Rickson on Vision aluminum 7. 5" rims. Hopefully, it should see a fuel mileage increase, and it'll be 6 or 7 years before I'm buying tires again :)

Oh... as a side note for those who don't know. Just because a tire says its "10 ply", it doesn't really mean 10 plys on the rolling surface. Let's just say I've heard that if you start seeing the 4th layer down which exhibits diagonal wire cords, don't go over 45 mph pulling a triple axle trailer  You don't want to find out by experience that you don't have 6 more layers to wear through.

No pics?!?!? Hey, no fair!!! :(

Yea, the ply rating is a kickback from the old bias ply days..... if you read the sidewall, it says, "Replaces 10ply rating" Again, the end consumer gets the shaft end of the deal... ... :D

I would go with the 19. 5's, we have a set of them on a DRW 04 and if you get a good tire they last a long time and we got 3 to 4 more MPG's out of them and thats pulling a 30ft trailer daily, and i've seen single wheels for them.

The tires and wheels are with mom and dad, who are coming back Sunday. So, maybe we'll have pics on Monday or Tuesday :)

I'd be happy with 2 mpg increase. What pressure do you run them at? These are rated to take 110 psi.

We run the fronts at 110 and the rear at 100, as for pics here you go.

Yup... as mentioned the 10 ply is "equivalent" to a 10PR bias tire. Decieving!

As far as pressure goes, all Ive learned is dont run them low. The sidewalls dont like flex like normal tires do.
