New Fuel module suggestions

That DARN Geno's Garage

OK I know all of the pro's and con's between the two and have read all of the vs post's.

So with that in mind should I go with the cheaper of the two?

I plan on having about 500 hp and going to the drags every now and then looking for mid 13's.

Will the two preform the same at the track???

Thanks I know this is a taboo subject, but I think I was carefull with my wording.

My ATS has performed very well at over 500 HP for over a year. The only problem has been a broken imput shaft, but that wasn't an ATS problem. I was cheap and used the stock imput.

The band was fine the strut bent at both ends. Cause too much line pressure and HP. Cure early model thicker and hardened strut welded inside the HD strut.

The only problem has been a broken input shaft, but that wasn't an ATS problem. I was cheap and used the stock input.

Been there done that, stripped the teeth off the stocker.

I actually sheared the teeth off the inside of the hub. Now it spins very nicely on the shaft. Bob I haven't seen the DDT strut, this wasn't an ATS strut, but I don't believe it will be a problem again.

loaded question and only one who's used both can answer to the pros and cons--me I'm DTT all the way, but the choice is yours--the ATS guys like what they have and the DTT guys like what they have---good luck---chris

I have had good luck with my ATS unit but have friends that are very happy with their Gorend units. Some are well over 500HP. and they are holding up well and cost even less. Call Gorend, Suncoast, ATS and DTT and see who you want to supply your trans. There isn't a lot of bad talk about any of these units, it is more like a Religion. To each his own, I think they are all good units or there would be more threads about failures.

Where's that caption someone has posted more than a few times. Several 700+ HP guys, all running DTT trannies.

There is a reason. Choose wisely, but decide for yourself, not by just what people post here.

When I priced out DTT and ATS I don't remember a $2,200 price difference, both were in the $4000 area give or take $200. I remembered ATS seperated the T/Q conv. from the trans. price, unless things have changed it doesn't sound right.

Big Dan,

You can get alot of very good information from this site, but unfortunately the question you have asked will never be answered honestly here. I myself am a DTT fan, but I haven't had anything else but them either, so I am biased. Have I had problems, yes, have they corrected them, yes, would I jump to another brand, hell no!

I am sure you will be happy with either, but if you have the opportunity to ride in similarily equipped trucks with each transmission, thats your best bet.

If you really want the 500 + HP, and mid 13 seconds down the 1/4, plan on spending more than the $4000 mentioned earlier. Fast is fun. . but expensive. A bit of advise too, no matter which brand you go with, do it right, no matter what the cost, the first time.

The best thing you can do is read all you can on the facts. Talk to all distributors and get your personal questions answered. I recently did just that. There is allot of bias as earlier mentioned. I just recently did the ATS Triple Lock TC, Valve Body, and Commander and my truck only had 10,000 miles on it. The overhaul was done as preventative maintence. All I can say is what a difference! It's a totally different truck. I think what ever you decide you will be happy, most of the companies mentioned above bend over backwards to make sure you are happy. I will say all of the expense is well worth it, even with shipping all the parts to Alaska. Good Luck!

I also contacted ATS and DTT the week before last and got prices with roughly a $1350. 00 difference. Price was quoted as installed at ATS and installed at a DTT installer. If I bought parts from the higher priced manufacturer and had them installed locally by a friend(read cheap labor) it was still $1050 difference.

In the process of trying to sort out a new customers truck set-up,I have found that Ats valve bodies appear to be more generic. Not as specific to the engine set-up as the DTT valve body. With the 12 valve this is more critical than with the 24 valves. Just one more thing to consider. None of this is an issue on my own truck. I shift mine:D
