NV271 (Tcase) parts needed - source?

I came across and purchased a Cummins motor and Allsion transmission from a wrecked bread van. 17k miles on the odometer. Unfortunately the majority of the bread van had been scrapped and the computer was gone and some of the wiring harnesses cut. Would it be simpler to contact the maker of the bread van, or is there another solution to get the Allison to work behid this motor it is bolted to? The motor is an 03 but has a VP44 pump the Allison is a 1000. I am thinking out loud P7100 swap with the 24 valve head and the Allison transmission would make a sweet ride. Maybe I would pull the old 12 valve out of my Suburban and put this in. I would love some feedback on this.

If you have the manufacture of the bread truck and know the VIN #, I would think you could get the build sheet/build configuration and go from that. That would be a nice setup;)

It would be easier and WAAAYY cheaper just to put the 24V in and test the fuel pump. If it's bad/going bad, find a good VP44. Get a good aftermarket lift pump and a fuel pressure gauge. The 24Vs VP44 dies because the LP goes bad and you don't know it without the fuel pressure gauge. Changeover to P7100s in 24Vs are EXPENSIVE (try upwards of $5000) and usually done by sled pullers. The pump alone is big $$$.

Better to get her running in a vehicle first. the Allison TCM interfaces to the Cummins ECM. TCM operation depends of Cummins ECM functions that will be eliminated or changed by going to a P7100.
It's possibe to interface a P7100 engine to the Ally 1000 TCM but you will need some custom ECM programming.

I believe destroked.com or one of their customers has done a P7100 engine to an Ally 1000. Check their site.

Also Look at this link to see what others are doing in this area.

By the way, Good find you already some of the more expensive components that were enginered to work togather (SAE3 housing, flexplate, torque converter, starter, ect)
You'll probably want to have the TC upgraded and install a valvebody kit but should make a solid conversion with standard off the shelf parts from Cummins and Allison.
