I hate to ask what may be a dumb question but here goes! Will a set of stock injectors out of a 2000 24 valve work in a 93 12 valve engine? I have a set and my son wants to start bombing his 93. Are we way off base even thinking about this. Neither of us is real knowledgable on the 93 as he just got it. TIA

Nope. The 12 V head has a completly different injector style than the 24V head. Probably the easiest way to make it work would be to swap to a 24V head, so you see the challenge. P.

Same idea, would a set of 98 12 valve injectors work? Might be a cheap way to pick up a couple of horses!
1st gen injections lines will not bolt up to 2nd gen 12V injectors. You'd have to change the tops out, and reset the pop pressures. Pop pressures are much higher on 2nd gen sticks vs. 1st gen sticks. Once you did that, you woulda been well ahead of the game, time and moneywise, if you bought a set of ebay Lucas POD's.

1989-1993 injectors are interchangeable, but it depends if the truck was factory intercooled or not. The Non-Intercooled motors actually had bigger injectors, with different copper sealing washers. If you put a 1989 injector into a 1993 truck, the '93 would run much stonger. Please take care with the copper sealing washer, as the washer dictates where the fuel is sprayed at into cylinder...

1994 - 1998. 4 injectors are all interchangeable, but some injectors don't like the lower HP pumps. Example: 215HP injectors from a 1998. 4 in a 1994 160HP motor will have an awkward hesitation or stutter at 1,600rpm.

1998. 5 - 2002 injectors are all interchangeable with no ill effects. They are all the same HP rating. You can put injectors from an RV, or Ambulance in your 24V motor. The rating will be 275-330HP. They are a "275"HP injector. The only difference between the RV and Ambulance injector is the ECM calibration.

2003 - 2004. 4 Are interchangeable. No Horsepower gain or loss. Newer injectors are better since they have updates to improve durability.

2004. 5 - 2005 are interchangeable, No Horsepower gain or loss. Newer injectors are better since they have updates to improve durability.

2006 are different from all other year injectors, and are only for this year model only.

**They MAY be interchangeable with the 2004. 5+ motor, BUT I haven't had, or seen any tests done yet. I do know the FSM states that severe engine damage will occur if the 2006MY injectors are interchanged with the 2005MY. **

Hope this clears it up...

89-91 injectors have a 9 MM tip, 91. 5-93 have a 7 MM tip, so an early injectors wont fit into a later 1st Gen head. The reverse will work if you use special sealing washers that take up the 2 MM difference in tip diameter.
