1989-1993 injectors are interchangeable, but it depends if the truck was factory intercooled or not. The Non-Intercooled motors actually had bigger injectors, with different copper sealing washers. If you put a 1989 injector into a 1993 truck, the '93 would run much stonger. Please take care with the copper sealing washer, as the washer dictates where the fuel is sprayed at into cylinder...
1994 - 1998. 4 injectors are all interchangeable, but some injectors don't like the lower HP pumps. Example: 215HP injectors from a 1998. 4 in a 1994 160HP motor will have an awkward hesitation or stutter at 1,600rpm.
1998. 5 - 2002 injectors are all interchangeable with no ill effects. They are all the same HP rating. You can put injectors from an RV, or Ambulance in your 24V motor. The rating will be 275-330HP. They are a "275"HP injector. The only difference between the RV and Ambulance injector is the ECM calibration.
2003 - 2004. 4 Are interchangeable. No Horsepower gain or loss. Newer injectors are better since they have updates to improve durability.
2004. 5 - 2005 are interchangeable, No Horsepower gain or loss. Newer injectors are better since they have updates to improve durability.
2006 are different from all other year injectors, and are only for this year model only.
**They MAY be interchangeable with the 2004. 5+ motor, BUT I haven't had, or seen any tests done yet. I do know the FSM states that severe engine damage will occur if the 2006MY injectors are interchanged with the 2005MY. **
Hope this clears it up...
