I have a 92 4wd with '02 motor and 325cc Pdr pump. Have also installed Dana 80 and NV5600 with CON OFE clutch. Motor has 275 injectors and Bell USB turbo with 4" exhaust all the way back. I'm looking for 400hp without the 1500deg egt. I am painfully aware of the fact that the electronic pump would have given me that but at the time that was not an option for me. I have just received a new 12valve grind cam and lifters from Piers.

When I install it I plan on o-ringing the head. Now for the question: On a roll on from say 60 mph to 100mph my egt will go above 1400 if I don't back off a little. I am currently at 370hp. Is the cam going to drop my egt enough to add 30hp worth of fuel. Or am I going to need stage 2 porting and twins to drop that much. Also I am running the Banks upgrade intercooler right now. But I have an '02 intercooler that I will install when I do the cam. I'm really not thrilled with putting twins on this thing but if that's what it takes I will do it. But I've had egt issues with this thing from the start and If I do the cam, porting, and the twins and still have an egt problem at 400hp I will be unhappy to say the least. I could really use some good advice. But don't tell me to start over please.

Hey Ron, looks like you are still on your quest, I have tried to many single turbo's to count and you are not going to get there and still have good driveabily like I know you want. Give me a call and I will tell you more of what is going on now, I will have an answer to your question very soon. Actually the answer is there I just want to see it with my own eyes on my own truck. When I drove Piers truck at 500 hp I beleave in Vallet mode I could not get the EGT's over 1200 at 55lbs of boost, that was foot to the floor untill I ran out of road.

Well I went out and dyno'd my truck this morning and it did better than I thought it would . Best run was 395hp at 2300rpm.

Boost was at 40lbs and he'd shut down when it reached 1400deg. If I don't loose any power when I change the cam and I o-ring and stud the head so I can go up on boost to 45-48lbs. and the cam brings the heat down and I go to the 2002 intercooler. Maybe I won't have to twin after all. But thats alot of ands. I have to admit that I was impressed with the gain from the turbo. 61 hp without changing any thing but the turbo. Blair, I'll let you know if the cam helps this weekend.
