Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 241 HD fill plug

OK, I did try the search, but didn't find any answers.



MY tcase seems to have a regular allen head plug. That is ok. The problem is, I can't get the dang thing loose. I wanted to check the fluid level, bu tI can't seem to ifnd a way to do it. I figure I could pull one of the pto cover bolts, but how would i refill it if need be then ?



Any suggestions ?? I need to make sure it is full, cuz it has a leaking front & rear seal, but I don't have the time right now to replace the seals. not leaking bad, but i have a feelingthe PO did not ever check it.



I don't want to kill it before I can replace the seals.

I stripped mine. Had to drill it and get an EZ_OUT in it. It was a hassel.

If it's like mine a 1 3/16" socket will work.

I'll have to double check, but it looks to be more of a set-screw style plug... no external hex on it.



BUT. . if I ever get it out, that will change.

Warm the area around the plug with a torch becareful not to melt the aluminium. It should come out pretty easy then.
