Competition Injector line question...

The 271 is much bigger and beefier. It can be put on a second gen with only slight modifications. BigBadDodge and cahammer have both done it that I know of.

if anyone has the spec sheet that was posted on here previously please post a link ...

i've done a search and it's been fruitless ...

it showed the factory specs for all the transfer cases in our trucks

they got progressively stronger from the "mighty" np 205 to the 241 and the 271

they showed each "generation" to be an improvement over the last

one thing to think about before doing the swap is that the 271 doesn't have provisions for a speedo if you have an older 2nd gen truck. I think all of the 12valves have the speedo run off the t-case and am not sure about when it changed to reading off the rear axle. I know that BBD had to go without the speedo but his was pretty much off the street when he did the swap

My 98 12 valve speedo runs off the axle. I can't remember what modifications were necessary. I know he upgraded some u joints to the 1480 series but that could have been "just cuz". I will call him and ask him to chime in here.

I remember the charty RyanB is referring too. Going by memory the 241 was rated at 8800lbs. The 241HD was 10,800. The 271/273 is somewhere near 18,000lbs.
