Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 241dld Transfer Case Problem

My T case was making some strange noises today, almost like it was trying to go into gear. Removed it, drained the oil and found metal flakes. I did a quick search on here and came up with Gillys Transfer case saver as an upgrade for my next T case. Is there any other upgrades for these T cases? I am tired of replacing transfer cases, this will be the third one I have replaced. I do have about 450-500 hp. I do not sled pull or drive in 4 wd on road.

On my '95 I had a snap ring break that allowed a collar to "float" + partially engage 4WD.

Get that fixed before you destroy the transfer case.

Snap Ring

Took the tail housing off today and snap ring pieces fell out. I need to find someone who sells Gillie's Transfer case saver. I googled it and came up wiht nothing. Hope they are still around.
