Has anyone had the flange on the front d/s at the tcase crack or break ?
I was under the truck tonight trying to eliminate an exhaust pipe clearance issue, when I noticed my front d/s was loose.
The companion flange nut has apparently backed off some, as it is loose, and one of the d/s flange bolts is gone, and there is about a 1" piece of the flange missing. two of the other bolts were so loose they were about to come out. I think I found my tcase leak...
I could move the front d/s up and down a good inch at the slip joint.
Has anyone else ever seen or heard of this flange breaking off or cracking like that ??
No more than I will use 4wd, I should be able to replace the seals & companion flange nut, and just get a new bolt and torque it all down. The way it broke, it will still have 4 bolts holding it, but one of them will only be clamping for about 180 deg of the bolt head.
Does this make sense ??
