Hey all,

I'm out visiting in the KC area for a month and it gets down to single digits at night an not much over 30 during the day.

1. I can't plug it in, no power anywhere near the parking lot. Is this going to hurt anything? Are there rechargable portable units avail that I could charge during the day? Or just leave it alone???

2. I don't "need" to drive it at all during the week due to all my work being with in a mile or so. How often should I "force" myself to drive it around to get the fluids going?

3. Do I need to add anything to the fuel?

Basically I need a Cold Weather lesson for Diesel dummies from some of you all.

Thanks,

Rick

Rick, use a good diesel supplement and that is all you need. If you need to drive it then drive it, if you don't leave it parked. As long as you have good batteries you will be fine. These trucks are tough and start at temps that make the competition extremely jealous. No worries man.

Left mine sit for 2 days in negative 24 degree temps and it started just fine after I cycled the grid heater 3 times. It might run a little rough for the first couple of minutes but as long as you have 2 good batteries you'll be just fine. I also use additive when ever the fuel has not been winterized.
