Competition C-Rings?

Off Roading 2nd gen overlandish build

Has anyone here pressed out the edge filter from your crossover tubes?

Or do they need to be drilled out? If so, what is the stock size of the tubes (inside diameter)

Thanks!

Us junkyard dogs drill them out with a small bit. They are soft, and as soon as you start into them, they grab and spin out... ...

Just MAKE SURE YOU ARE CLEAN when you get done.

Thanks Scott, that's exactly what I was going to try. Found some used ones this morning actually.

I think I. I. said they EDM the tubes out to 0. 098" and it cost $$$...

The question is do you just want to remove the edge filter, or open up the bore size for more fuel. 2 different questions. For max flow, buy them from II. For a simple flow restriction removal, get the black and decker out.

Yes and Yes;)

I'm removing the restriction on one set, then heading to the dyno for the first time for a baseline. (not really a baseline at this level, but you gotta start somewhere right? :-laf )

Then I'm getting a larger set to go with my larger injectors and heading back to the dyno later. It would be nice to swap tubes while at the dyno with the bigger injectors and see if there is any difference.

Are the 3rd gen crossover tubes the same as the 2nd gen:confused: I've got a complete HPCR engine in the garage I could steal them out of...

I just took a 1/16" punch and tapped the inserts out. They are only pressed in and dont take much to get out. Have not got my set in yet but I did a simple flow test and seen a good improvment in volume with the inserts out.

Drilling out the crossover tube filter will result in surging and little to no gain. At least thats the information I've heard for years...
