Competition P Pump MAC Plug?

Which of these boxes raise the rpm limit or governor? I'm running a drag comp and my smarty on #2 right now. Max rpm is currently 3500. Did the smarty or the drag comp raise it to this limit?

What would be different if I changed from my drag comp to a redline box? Increase rpm limit to 4000? Can you still run a smarty in the mix or is it even necessary?

Thanks

Once you go beyond 3,800 I think you will be flirting with possible "breaky, breaky. of thingys".

They make springs that will allow you to take the RPM up to 4,000, but I seem to remember that bad things can start to happen above 3,800 rpm down in the lower end of the case.

Some one else will chime in here that has been there with better info.

The stock Cummins bottom end will take 4,000RPMS no problem. But the valves with start floating. You will need stiffer valve springs, about $1200 for the set.

Now for the answers to your questions:

Drag comp allows you to full fuel up to around 3500 (area).

If you went to a Redline you can turn 4000 or more. Yes you can still stack a Smarty with a redline (or ez etc. ).

Springs are no longer stock.

So if I went with a redline, I could sell my drag comp as the redline will fuel up to 4000 rpm?

Any other advantages or disadvantages (besides cost) to consider here?

Is this rig going to be your daily driver:confused: Curiosity has me at the moment and whom do you plan on embarrassing when you lay waste to fuel, rubber and lots of good old #2 smoke as they watch you pull away from the feeble attempts in thinking they had you in a race:-laf

You'll make more power by stacking the Redline and Drag Box in EZ mode and leaving the Smarty out. At times the Smarty and the Redline may act up a lil bit.

I would be drag racing if I had a built auto, currently setup for sled pulling. NV5600 and a dual disk.

Yes it is my daily driver and yes I will

Does the redline fuel more aggessively than a drag comp or will I only notice the difference in that I can rev above 3500?

How much power difference would there be between the drag comp and the redline? Are we talking 20 hp, 50 hp, ??? hp...

Gus, what sort of gain would I see running a redline and my drag comp in ez mode?

And thanks for the big sticks, I picked up 15 psi of boost:eek:

The redline is the baddest boy on the block! It is a totally different animal than a drag comp. The FMS is good for around 120-130 hp on a stock pump the redline is 60 hp more and 100 lb/tq or so more than that. Now throw in bigger pumps and injectors and its all   :-laf  :-laf

Redline is the hardest hitter on the market for the VP - hp gain over the Drag box I don't know for sure. You'll also have tha ability to turn more RPM which will definitely make sled pulling more fun. Glad to hear the injectors are awesome.

I'll see if I can figure out how to post a dyno sheet. This was a little while back, though it made a peak of 543 (much more now). The cool thing was that it was still making 500hp at 3930 rpm. . This was on an 06.
