ive got a 00 non HO with a 6sp. Its got a torque dog 65hp, 80hp bullybooster injectors, a hybrid turbo. checked fuel pressure-2lbs-installed holley blue pusher pump-15lbs. It improved somewhat but im still only getting 28psi boost-replace air filter. same story. im running out of ideas on what the problem is and im ready to set the damn thing on fire. egt, oil press. , water temp are all ok. PLEASE HELP

no, but ive got a buddy w/ a 99 5sp and 100 hp injectors and stock turbo and he runs off and leaves me. I dont think that 20 hp would make that kind of difference

There's not much to go on here. You should have way more than 28psi, as a truck with stock fuel will show you 26psi with just the Bully box. Add 80hp injectors and you should have at least 30-32 psi empty.

Did you check all the basics? Blown HG? Bad injectors (bully dog isn't the best injector around)?

It sounds to me like you either have a bad torque Dog or Map sensor. The ECM is probably defueling you.

Do you have any codes tripped?

yeah i checked for boost leaks, head gasket is good, I thought the box was bad so i exchanged it for a new one but it didnt make a difference. I have had a problem w/ map sensors in the past but it isnt acting like it usually does when one goes bad

24v Performance

I'm recently a new memeber to TDR. My ride is a 99 4x4 QC SWB with a Banks Power Pack. I'm not real happy with the performance, but I'm having problems with the truck too. At 82K the lift pump and injector pump failed. Cummins did fulfill their obligation on the warranty, but after the new pumps were installed... my milage decreased. This was before I installed the power pack. After I installed the Banks kit my milage increased, but I felt I did not get the performance I was wanting for $2400. 00. Since then, my lift pump and injector pump have failed again(114K) and I'm lost on the reliability and performance issues. I only buy fuel at truck stops... change the fuel filter ever 8K miles(two oil changes). Each time I put fuel in it, I put a little Lucas treatment in with it. I have heard rumors about pusher pumps and things other than Banks. The truck is primarly use for trailering an RV and towing various trailers. I'm sure these types of questions have been asked an answered many times. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Mabe a boost leak you can't notice, because you drive it all the time and your used to it. I would pressure test the system to be on the safe side. How are your EGT's???

i have about the same setup as you do minus the hybrid turbo. with the box off and just injectors i can peg my gauge at 35 psi. this is a dumb qustion but you do have the fitting in the wastgate to prevent it from opening sooner due to your increase in boost.

That's what I was thinking and if you do have boost elbow on maybe it's malf'ed.

right now i just have a hose coming off the wastegate and i have the end plugged. on this turbo there wasnt a place to screw in a boost orfice-gotta drill & tap a hole. how do you check to see if the wastegate is stuck open?
