I do disagree with your last comment about "not having control if people don't look at what's available". I seem to remember a fairly good sized literature packet sent to me as a new member. I might have appriciated a guide on where to start out and why.
Example: I buy a used 2002 CTD for fun & towing my camper and want to add HP. Do I start out asking questions in 2nd Gen. - Eng & trans; Product Acessories: 1st Time Cummins Owner: or Towing & Hauling?
New members have done all of the above, no? If it's important to the majority -you might get good cooperation from new members by suggesting where to get feet wet first. Just my opinion.
