I got some info on a 98 or 99 3500 CTD 4x4 that I might possibly get for a heck of a deal. The guy who told me about it isn't sure if it's an early 98 12v or a 98. 5-99 24v. Apparently a gas station attendant filled her up with gas instead of diesel and toasted 4 pistons? Not really sure on the damage though. The Dealer had the truck and charged the guy over $4k in injection work and the truck is still not runnin. Again, the story isn't very clear as of right now.
Somehow the dealer got the truck back and now says there are 4 bad pistons due to the regular fuel and it's now an insurance claim. I might be able to buy the truck from the owner for dirt cheap. My dad has a 12v out of a burnt 97 with low miles and i was wondering if swapping the 12v into this "new" truck (depending on whether it's a 24v or not) is an easy swap. Thanks in advance.
