4bt in a wrangler

6BT harmonic balancer for 4BT????

My SO does not want an electrical fan for the radiator on her willys. So the idea is to mate up all of the accessories drive stuff off of a late model CTD and put in on the front of the 4BT that's going into the Willys. That would include the thermostat housing with alternator and mount, belt tensioner and mount, the fan mount and fan!, the water inlet and AC and AC mount. It looks like the 94- 98. 5 parts will fit the 4BT (1990 vintage) but I'm not sure if the 24V thermostat housing has the same mounting pattern. I've located two broken 24V engines that I can buy the parts off of and need to find out if these parts will fit. Anyone out there lucky enough to own a 24V and a 12V that can verify what fits what?

The parts are different. The 24v theomostat sets down into the head, where the 12v is in the side of the head. The 12v parts should work on the 4 cylinder.

We have room under the hood for the higher t-stat on the 24V. Do you know if the bolt pattern that holds the T-stat on is different from the 12V engines?

The thermostat sits into the head not a housing. the 12v is bored on the side and the 24v on the top. they both use 3 bolts but I don't know if it is the same pattern. also the books list different numbers for the thermostats.

I see what you mean! Went to a dealership and looked at one on the lot. The good news is looks like every thing else will bolt on.

Thanks for the reply,

Steve
