Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 24v will not run after idling

We have a 2000 2500 4wd at work that is acting weird. After it sits and idles for a half hour or so (I know, they shouldn't be doing it, but its a work truck and its going to happen) and the driver trys to take off the engine will not rev. All that it wants to do is idle until you hold the throttle to the floor for a few seconds and it will finally take off.

Any ideas?

Maybe low on transmission fluid? I always check the easiest things first.

The trans is fine, the engine itself will not rev.

Maybe the APPS, have you had it checked for codes?

Sorry I read your post wrong. My partners truck did the same thing and it was the APPS.
