Gee 25,000 came and went with no fuss at all? Whatsup? Who was it anyhow? I noticed a bunch of official members in the list but can't narrow it down. Well whoever you are ... hey what's up.

There is a list of who is on at the bottom of the main forum page. Put your cursor on the member and look at the bottom of the window. The member number is the last thing on the link. Mine is ... ... ... ... .php?u=12

Ummmmm, actually that isn't accurate. That's the member id number in the database which has large gaps in it. JWeskamp for example who is #25,000 on the website has an id of 993760. I have to look in the database itself and see what the record # is to see which member # you are. That is only on the website as well - that doesn't include the magazine subscribers that don't use the website. R-N-R for example is user id #12,858 but he is member #12,778 on the site. I'm user id #402 and I was the 446th user on the site.

Joe was actually #13. There are only 5 users still active that are older than Joe!

I re-listed about a year ago and sure enjoy it here

We sholud have a guess your user ID and win Compition ... ... Win A Free Year of TDR . .

Ill say if RNR is 12,778 and were on 25,000 now I would be ... ... ... . 20. 358 TDR USER

Actually, anyone with a join date of Aug 1999 is a plank owner. When Rob Spading sold DieselRam.com to TDR, most of the members transferred to TDR on the same day and some in the next few days. When the dust settled I think there were 200 of us. So the early numbers might be viewed as where we placed in the typing test of transferring to TDR quickly. The first of us were already subscribers of the mag so we switched over right away. Some others had to subscribe first.

This kind of history is great! With many people in the hobby/sport today, most certainly including forum activity, it is good to remind us of the TDR roots.

Tool...

You must be bored eh????

Its nice to see that in size it keeps getting bigger, but,I will ask this of you... .

The 35k mark will be a big plateau when its crossed and out of those 35k how many are deemed "Current" members?. I have wondered that as we passed the other marks and never asked. If we will have 35k current paid members then it would be impressive but if its how many we have had since the inception wouldn't it meaning be a tad less significant?. Just curious here...

I am not the only one who has noticed less traffic here, and others I chat with regularly have noticed it too. It used to be when you clicked on the new posts link you could spend all night looking through them and now maybe 4 or 5 pages and your done... ..... Andy

TMTT ..... *~Blinks eyes~* ... ... ... *sniffle* ... ... ... . :{ Did ya have to pop my baloon, light it on fire, and beat it out with my severed right arm?? :-laf :-laf

So yeah whats this now?

the lesser activity may also be attributed to the search feature as most problems have been talked about at length and solved by someone else already. Thats a good part of why we're here.

Pop,your balloon..... :-laf

I wouldn't want to do anything to ruin my chances at more of your wifes Jambalya(hint, hint).

That makes sense Thanks,Now back to Tool mashing..... LOL

Our total traffic numbers as far as people reading the site continue to go up. December this year to December last year our traffic numbers were up by 3%. Right now we have 12,632 registered members on the site and there are a number of members that are not registered on the site (around 40% more). Also consider that you (Hammer) have the other and political forums turned off in your searches so if your comparing to a time when those topics showed up in searches that will change things although our new post count has gone down - people looking up information via searches explains part of that. One change we tried earlier this year that did not work was that we had for quite some time limited non members to only being able to view the previous 10 days worth of threads and anything older than that they could only see the 1st post. I noticed last month that after that change was made that our registration numbers went way down. I noticed that in December and we have turned that back on and our registration numbers are climbing back up.

There was a time when the TDR was able to get a mailing list of all new buyers and unfortunately they haven't been able to for many years. The website and word of mouth are the only way we can pick up new members. So your word of mouth is an important part of keeping the membership up! If you guys have any suggestions for features for the site, magazine, the TDR in general, etc - please let us know because we are constantly striving to improve to give you the best possible experience.

I wonder if a forum ( or sub forum of "product & Acc") about truck detailing would catch on?

I see alot of trucks with swirl marks on them , those guys need some advice from our resident experts.

just a thought !

Hmmm...

Now there is a forum I would LOVE to see and use.

Steve...

I knew that had been done as I have a local here who constantly complained when he couldn't see anymore than the 1st post. I handed him a pile of my old mags and told him look through and see what he is missing. He finally brought them back and said,no thanks, his loss not mine. Not sure what it would take to have this joint grow and I do regularly hand out applications that I carry.

As for the Political forums... .

Its a place that I best steer clear from as I would not play well with others and do not want to have you work harder by handing me a time-out note. Its one area I KNOW to stay clear of to maintain a lower blood pressure.

Anything I can do to help here all you need to do is ask... ... Andy
