Need horse trailer towed to Alaska

2 5/16" ball in bed for gooseneck

anyone know how much a 25' weekend warrior, non 5th wheel weights full of fluids I'm planning on pulling one to pismo during easter break, just wondering how much it would weigh, i know it won't be a problem for my truck, cause my neighbor pulls it with a half ton chevy 4x4, with some help with air bags, so anyone have an idea thanks

Ok, here is what I have and you can conclude from that. .

I have a 28' Desert fox TT toybox and with a ATV in the back, and 35 gallons of Gas in a Fuel station, Generator, 100 gallons of fresh water, and all my stuff in it.

Trailer weighs about 11,400# fully loaded and total gross combined is 19,400#. (My limit is 20,000 GCWR) I have a hensley hitch so that added 220# to the hitch...

I think the weekend warriors are a little lighter in general so on yours, unknown on fresh water capacity, I would suspect that, being shorter, would be around 9-10,000# total... maybe less... . so the hitch will be around 1000# or so... ...

okay, i thought it would weigh about that much, guess i'll just see how it pulls, i've pulled 5k with a 95 ram 1500 2wd with the 5. 9, up a steep grade for about 30 minutes, did okay, got a little hot though, i have a lot more power than that does though (that one being my dads)

I do have fully loaded weekend warrior FB2600 and with 2 quads and with water and fuel tank tops, weight is little over 9200 #

M:cool:

Yeah, when mine is loaded without toys (the toys lighten the tongue weight about 150lbs since they're in the back) my tongue weight is at 1,825!!!. It's about 1700 with the toys in the back. I have a FS2600. My trailer has more tongue weight than a FS3000 due to the extra axle on the 3000. Believe it or not, I actually towed this trailer half a dozen times with my '99 Expedition... those were my stupid days I suppose. :)

As another one pointed out, the tongue weight is where it matters with this type of trailers. Your friend with his 1/2 is overweight going down the road... I think the airbags are giving him a false sense of security. After all, even crappy airbags can even out a couple thousand pounds of tongue weight... but that doesn't mean the suspension and brakes aren't sorely being overworked... not to mention the hitch.

yeah i wouldn't feel safe riding in the 1/2, but what kind of hitch do you have with that kind of tongue weight?? i think all the air bags do is make it so it doesn't sag so much, since half tons have weak leaf springs, i'd hate to see that thing try to stop tho
