250 vs 350

Hi, new to the page, I am looking at buying either an early style W250 or 350 Dodge diesel and am not sure of the differences. I need to be able to put 4k lbs on it, which I currently do with my 3500 single wheel, GMC. What are the differences between the single and dual wheel Dodges? also what is the curb weight vs GVW of these trucks? Do the sindle wheel and duallies have the same axles, and frames... .

Any input will be appreciated

Service Manual

Ther are some charts in the service manual with the curb, cargo and GVWR for all the different truck models. Also trailer capacity chart. 4000# should just work in 350 with dual wheels, the single wheel version (350) is rated slightly lower. The 350 also gives you a higher trailer tongue weight.
