2500/3500 Ordering Question ????

Hello All,

After owning an SLT SWB QC, I am considering ordering a 05 "ST" . Never use the added features of the SLT,and actually worry more about the interior cloth and carpet as well as the two tone metallic paint(clear coat scratches sooooo easy !) Fog lamps,trip computer, electric window and seat are forgot ton to the point I have to try them once and a while to see if they still work !

My Question is why a fully loaded (OXYMORA) "ST" less carpet and cloth seat 2500 is over $ 1900 less than and similar quipped 3500 ?????????????????????? I want the extra capacity,but overload springs and 9900 lb door sticker is not worth it to me. Unless I'm missing something else. As you can imagine,the dealers(salespeople) have came up with all kinds of reasons. (Worth a lot of laughs ,but to long to share on this post)

The payload capacity and towing difference don't seem to be that much either.

Are you sure that the 3500 pricing wasn't for a DRW?

I am very happy with my ST, my last truck had every option, I just wanted a good simple truck this time. I love the seat, the fabric is super tough, different from the SLT, it's like a nylon weave. The rubber floor is also very nice, the only thing I miss is power door locks, I am going to add them, not factory after market from DEI, solinoids in the doors and a simple alarm. All in all I probably did not save much with the ST but then again I did not get the ST to save money, it was what I wanted.

Did you meen save as much in regards to the power door locks ?

Yeah,they are both priced out as Quad Cabs with Short beds !

I meant in general, I have added a CD takeout stereo I bought on eBay, I bought a take out center console on eBay, the ST one does not have the storage and couple other little things like the cup holder for the rear seat, including the alarm keyless entry I have probably added $500 worth of stuff that would have come standard with the SLT. My ST is pretty loaded for a ST, it has the cruise and tilt, cloth seat, slider rear window, 4. 10s, anti-spin, plow prep, towing and towing mirrors. not exactly sure what is standard on the SLT and not on the ST but I did not think the difference was as much as $1900.

I did it again , just to make sure. It came out the same on the "Build and Price Corporate site" Identical set-up between 2500 & 3500 , and the price is about $1900 off. Same everything,even the bed lenth and tires. Did not check the differance between ST & SLT , but I think it is about the same too (3800 dollars total) Where is Tommeygun when ya' need him !

Maybe the "build your own" website is messed up. There should not be a $1900 delta between and 2500 and 3500 equipped the same way. You might try one of the other pricing websites.

I may be way off base here, but I thought that after you start building the 3500, you have to select "delete DRW" to get a SRW. That would knock a bunch off the price.

Yes, you must select Single rear wheel group, and that saved me something like 1100 dollars.
