I searched a bit but couldn't find much.

What are the main differences between a 2500 and 3500 SRW 3rd gen truck?

Thanks!

Nick

Nick- the biggest difference is the added helper springs atop the sring pack on the 3500. Other than that, there seems to be little between the two.

Approx 400 lb heavier payload capacity in bed. Greater factory-rated towing capacity. Different third-member (rear axle) -- part #s are different. Larger rear brakes. Overload springs in rear. Cab clearance lights. My '03 3500 SRW weighs about 400 lbs more than an '03 2500 QC LB.

Well I am putting in 4-corner air bags capable of at least #3500 EACH, so there goes my spring issue, and I have the light package, so there goes the clearance light issue. I guess I will be ok without the larger rotors/calipers and 3rd member, haha.

Thanks guys

Nick- I didn't realize you were attempting to create a 1ton from a 3/4T... you will need the "3500" badges to put on the doors when yer done. :-laf

06 3500 srw do not automatically have cab lights.

I think the 11. 5 rear end is now standard on both the 2500 and 3500, and has been for a couple of years.

Matt

The diesel package for the 05 2500 includes the 11. 5" rear axle that is standard on the 3500. the brakes are the same on the 2500/3500
