The other day I spotted a dually with 2500 badging, longbed, 24-valver at a Kentucky fuel stop. I couldn't catch the driver to ask him where what and how. Do/did they ever make this combo, O learned ones?

Well the only difference between a 2500 LB and a 3500 is the dual rear tires and fender flares!! I think I'm right? So he most likely made it a 1-ton by adding a Dana 80 and the flares, or he had a 1-ton and put 2500 plates on the doors, to mess with people!! I have a Friend with a 2000 F350 with 6" lift kit and 38" swampers and the big Banks kit and he ordered the F550 stickers for his truck, for a joke!! You just never know!!

There are at least three companies that make adapters for converting a 2500 to dual rear wheels. Rickson and Arrowcraft are two that I have seriously looked at. You can get adapters for the duallies, and they sell fenders, too.

I haven't made the switch yet for dinero reasons.

Front wheel hubs and wheels are different on the 3500's too, though I'm not precisely sure why or how.

The 3500 have about a three inch spacer to locate the front outward for the dually rims. I do not know if the rear is spaced any as well.

The 2500's with stick are supposed to have the dana 80 from the factory. Mine does. A service tech told me that not all sticks ended up with the 80 though.

The 3500 also has bigger brakes shoes on the trucks prior to rear disc brakes. I don't know if the disc are the same.

the dually axle is a bit narrower than the 2500 axle , and the spacer on the front is more than 3/4 i believe , there is a pretty big offset in those wheels .
