Steve,

I have a 1998 Sales brochure from Dodge. The specs show GVWR ratings as follows:

1500 series (both 4 X 2 & 4 X 4) - 6400

1500 series 4 X 4 regular cab with 5. 9 Magnum - 6600

2500 series (both 4 X 2 & 4 X 4) 8800

3500 series (both 4 X 2 & 4 X 4) 10,500

Steve,

Early 94/95 models there was a LD 2500 model which had a lighter GVWR than 8800. I cannot remember what is was, (7500 or 8000 GVWR?). It disappeared as the 2nd Gen's went into full production and the V10/CTD were the engines for 2500/3500. It was a get you by model until the HD's came out.
