What exactly are these tires? Other than 17", I'm obivious. I see big tires with black rims then this steel cap on top of it with a hat that covers the lugs. I kinda get confused when you guys talk about tires and rims. What numbers do I need if I wanted to look for rims and the tires? Just the numbers on the tires.

TIA

(P. S. thanks for your patience)

Oo.

Tires

The stock tires are 265/70/17.

The first number is the width in mm. So 265 is 10. 43 wide.

The second # is the ratio of the width to the side wall height (from inner diameter to tread top o. d. ).

The third number is the rim size.

The "larger" tires you see are 315/70/17's, and they will fit on your truck. Most people say they have no rubbing, but other have said they get a little rub when they have the wheel completely turned.

With the larger tires the change in diameter throws the speedo off, so you might want to have it recalibtrated (about $50 I think).

Also, note that the taller tire will reduce your gear ratio. If you pull a heavy trailer and have 3. 73's you may ask for some peoples opinions here.

Hope that helps.
