All right... I know that basically the only differences between a 3/4 ton and 1 ton srw truck is the extra overload leafs mounted above the main spring pack on the 1 tons... My question is. . Is there n e way to convert a 3/4 ton to a 1 ton by way of installing the overloads and spring perches to the 3/4 ton?... . As I know many ppl r thinking. . "why didnt u just buy the 3500?". . Well... I only had a few options and a specified time table... There were not n e 3500 srw trucks with the options I wanted within a reasonable distance... ... I recently started helping one of my friends with his general contracting business and need to be able to regulary haul 2-3k in the bed of the truck. . No room for a trailer at many of his customers houses... . Any help would be greatly appreciated

I believe the spring stops are welded on, and you are not spose to weld on the frame, I would do air bags, like I did, and get a friend to give you the 3500 badges he took of his truck. Better yet, thake the "4"s from the 4X4 off the tailgate and put em on the door. 4500!!!! 4500, that should be good for say 16000 gvwr

With the 3500 springs, the rear end sags too much before the extra leafs touch the frame. I had to put airbags on my 3500 to keep the headlights from pointing up in the air with my trailer attached (~1000lb tongue weight). If I were you, I'd just put on airbags.

I like the Ride Rite (by Firestone). But it looks like Air Lift (Goodyear) might have redesigned their bags in which case they might now be really close in construction.

Yes, but "LEGALLY" it will still be a 3/4 ton.

ROFLMAO I knew one of these posts would pop up!! They always do. My dad had a '95 F250 with the gasser and he had springs added to it, bumped it up to a 1 1/2 ton. Nothing would make that truck sag! But the ride was super rough when empty. I personally want to put the airbags on my truck to up the payload capacity.

I went with the air bags. I also leave the schrader valve out when I'm not using them. I put a plastic valve cap on with a small pin whole to let the bags allow air in and out for a smoother ride. I also made mine a 5500.

I thought that you were supposed to leave 5psi in the bags so they don't get damaged?

Some spring Co. have an overload kit that will fit on your truck. They look just like the factory 94-02 overloads that came on Dodge. I put some on my 02 and they worked great. They sit on top of the regular leaf packs and you could adlust them for how much sag you wanted before they took over.
